CORPORATE FINANCE MANAGER

New role to manage M&A activity and other strategic projects

FTSE Small Cap Company with Global Operations

Our Client is a FTSE Small Cap company with global operations and turnover of c. £300m, providing specialist B2B services and is a key player in a market sector that is going through tremendous change.

Following successful restructuring actions and technology deployment the Group is well placed to leverage its market position and create strategic opportunities to grow and develop its businesses. The Group now seeks to appoint a new role of Corporate Finance Manager to “plug a skills gap” in order to help take its growth strategy forward.

You will primarily be an M&A project management resource at its small corporate HQ, but in this new role the Corporate Finance Manager would need to have the flexibility, “hands on” attitude and preparedness to also apply their skills to a range of other varied ad hoc important Group projects.

Working closely with the Group CFO and the Director of Taxation, as well as other Group and Divisional Senior Executives, in this high-profile role you will be a self-starter, capable of thinking outside the box and will have the opportunity to help shape strategy and how the Group handles M&A activity.

As the principal internal Finance resource for M&A, assessing and co-ordinating M&A activity, linking in with internal stakeholders/specialists and external advisers, the main responsibilities of the Corporate Finance Manager will include:

  • Manage Financial Due Diligence Processes
  • Financial Modelling and Evaluation
  • Supporting Commercial Negotiations
  • Follow Up Work on Acquisitions/Disposals (eg. information flow to Group Accounts)
  • Research Acquisition / Disposal Opportunities
  • Assist Directors / Senior Managers with ad hoc Complex / Technical Projects (eg. tax restructurings, refinancing, analysis of strategic options, business valuations, etc)

Given the Group’s smaller company nature and small HQ, the Corporate Finance Manager will gain tremendous exposure at a high level and experience across a range of strategic project activities which will act as an excellent career stepping stone.

Candidates will be graduates who are (ideally) also professionally qualified.

Most importantly, you will have appropriate transaction project management experience gained either in a professional firm (eg. Transaction Services or Corporate Finance department), investment bank or gained in a similar role in a corporate environment.

In particular, you will need to demonstrate experience in project managing several material transactions and have excellent financial modelling and business valuation/analysis skills.
