The Client
Our client is a high profile investment and asset management firm, operating in the low-carbon sector. They are looking to strengthen their finance team following significant period of growth across their asset management portfolio. This is a key role in an organisation that is growing significantly in their market and offers a tremendous opportunity to work at the heart of renewable energy investments.
Responsibilities
- Taking responsibility for financial on boarding of new assets.
- Responsible for the audit process, managing the end to end process from planning through to signature and managing the audit liaison between appointed auditors and tax advisors.
- Manage, mentor, review and help plan work for up to 3 junior controllers / bookkeepers.
- Manage the Financial Reporting of assigned clients/SPVs in accordance to set and clearly defined timetables and checklists. Mainly focused on review work but will have elements of preparation of schedules and peer review work completed by other Senior Controllers.
- Prepare and circulate Intercompany reconciliations/Matrices and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure sufficient control and validity of the numbers produced in the primary statements.
- To spearhead the budget setting and implementation process, informing and leading the process from the front and interfacing with other departments within the Group to ensure all inputs are correct for a credible budget.
- Embed the budgets to the Financial Reporting process to compare with actuals and produce a summary KPIs of actual vs budget and consequently provide a variance analysis including an assessment of any significant impact.
The Candidate
- You will be a high calibre operator, confident and comfortable working in a fast paced, high intensity environment.
- It is expected you'll have an audit background from a Top 10 firm, ideally coupled with at least 2/3 years' industry experience.
- This experience should encompass prior experience of implementing and developing on-boarding processes, coupled with a strong understanding of subsidiaries, SPVs and parent companies.
Essential
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ICAEW)
- Educated to Degree Level
- Minimum 3+ years PQE
- Audit Background from a Top 10 firm coupled with at least 3 years industry experience would be a huge advantage
- Previous experience of the management of subsidiaries and their parent holding companies is highly desirable.
