Senior Accountant

Robertson Bell Finance are currently recruiting for a leading Social Housing Provider/ Charitable organisation with a turnover of several hundred million pounds based in London. They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and driven Senior Accountant and would like the give the opportunity for someone to be trained into a Head of role within the next two to three years.

The role reports into the Head of Group Reporting, who themselves once did this role and will give you the full support and training needed for you to succeed and grow in this post. Additionally, while this forward thinking Housing Association is charitable by nature, it is very commercially run and would give you future career options of whether to stay in the not for profit sector or continue a career in the commercial sector.

The Senior Accountant is very much a technical finance role, but will involve extensive interaction with the wider business. Responsibilities will include; build rapport and challenge a range of senior staff; maintain and improve the group systems and take on various projects; taking accountability for submission of the financial results, reporting to senior management and lead the preparation of the statutory accounts for each entity within the Group, ensuring the integrity of the trail balance.

In short, this role covers elements of both financial and management accounting plus the exposure to senior non finance staff where you will be communicating financial information to non-financial people.
