Financial Controller - Outstanding Opportunity

This is a permanent role, however we are looking for someone to take up the position asap.
A market leading security business with tremendous growth prospects. With the latest success with large flagship projects the business is growing rapidly is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and commercially minded Financial Controller to provide financial stewardship and support to the business.
You will be responsible for managing the Finance team and all financial reporting for the business. The right person will possess strong communication skills and an ability to communicate financial information effectively at all levels, and have proven experience of reporting at board level with strong business partnership skills.
You will be comfortable in empowering a strong financial control environment, formalising policies, procedures and processes to deliver accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting. An extensive knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, and ensuring compliance from transaction through to final reporting will also be important. Prior experience carrying out Audits and acting as the lead in dealing with external auditors.
You will have a proven track record of managing Finance teams, delivering high quality management reporting in a timely manner. This will be coupled with prior experience of training and building strong finance teams, with the ability to work under pressure and vetting all reporting issued by the finance department is essential to the role.
Advanced Excels skills are compulsory for this role, you should have the ability to efficiently run the existing reports and build on the work to generate further efficiencies and processes and reporting improvements. Knowledge of ODBC reporting and MS Query is high beneficial and the ability to learn systems quickly and be a fast Excel with an advanced knowledge of Sage is essential.
You are required to assist with HR issues including contracts and payroll submission to external payroll suppliers. Prior experience with payroll and assisting with HR related matters will prove beneficial.
You would be required to take on ad hoc projects including Corporate Finance, Overhead cost reduction and business Contract Reviews etc.
The role is for a qualified professional accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with solid post PQ experience. Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP is essential. Experience in the construction industry is essential to ensure you can provide leadership and support to the Project and Management Accountant, ensure tax and regulatory compliance and financial transparency to the Management.
