Michael Page is working in partnership with Dellner Ltd in the UK to find a Finance Manager for the site in Swadlincote. The role will be a critical part of the Senior Management Team partnering with the MD to make effective business decisions.

Established in 1984, Dellner Ltd is now a £12m turnover manufacturing business supplying various industries whilst employing c150 staff. In 2009 the company was acquired by the Dellner Group, a privately owned Swedish engineering firm whose roots lie within the rail industry. Today, the Dellner Group employs almost 700 people around the world with production centers or sales offices in almost every area around the globe.
The current production facility in the UK manufactures a diverse range of products incorporating safety critical and high performance products with an expertise lies in processing and the fabrication of engineered textile laminates.
Detailed Job Description
The business has highlighted the need to recruit a Finance Manager for the site in Swadlincote to support the business through the next phase of growth.
The role will be an all-round finance position leading a small team in the delivery of all financial and operational reports. This is a key role in the site, acting as a business partner to the Managing Director to highlight opportunities to improve the business.
Joining the talented Management team at Dellner, the business will be looking for the candidates to deliver the below:
- Overall responsible for the financial governance of Dellner Ltd and Dellner Woodville Ltd
- Responsible of preparation of budgets, accounts and forecasts for consolidation by Dellner Couplers AB
- Planning and forecasts
- Take an active part in managing and developing the business, being an active member of the management team
- Advice the Managing Director and the other members of the management team on all kinds of finance matters
- Responsibility for the systems and processes are updated and supporting the business in an optimal way
- Ownership and accountability for the audit, insurance and external relationships
- Leadership of the budgeting process with non-finance stakeholders
- Active management and reporting of cash flow identifying risk
- Lead and develop a small and evolving finance team
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Dellner Group with a dotted line to Managing Director Dellner Ltd
Candidate's Profile
There is an expectation that the ideal candidate will be able to deliver the financial requirements of the UK business and to produce regular reports in a timely manner. In order for the successful candidate to excel, Dellner will be looking for specific competencies that are encompassed by the desire to add value. The client will be looking for:
- A few years working experience in financial reporting and management with the full responsibility to lead the whole finance function and its team members
- A clear understanding of manufacturing processes and terminology including bill of material, stock, costing and WIP
- Demonstrable ability to lead, challenge and influence both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Strategic height as well as an ability and readiness to dig down into numbers when needed
- Hands-on and operational
- The ability to highlight commercial opportunities and risk
- A collaborative approach
- A recognised professional finance qualification (ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
