Commercial Financial Controller

One of the UK's leading specialist services companies is seeking a commercial and operationally focussed Financial Controller (Divisional Head of Finance) to drive performance, contribution and business development in this growing Plc. The role can be based at ANY site in the UK.

This is a great position for a dynamic qualified accountant, who has experience of driving profitability and managing cost, as well as active involvement and a good record of success in bid processes in order to grow revenues and top-line growth. They will be central to the financial performance of this key division, through financial management, operational metrics, and business partnering with key senior stakeholders.

This role is a fantastic move for a candidate keen to have a rewarding position, where they have a daily opportunity to influence performance, profitability and responsibility for financial strategy. This role is also seen as a "proving-ground" for the next Finance Director!

• Partnering with both the Finance Director and Divisional Director to drive financial performance
• Lead on contract negotiations, ensure a balance between risk and commercial opportunity
• Deliver a world-class suite of MI and Reporting, including non-financial metrics
• Influencing operational behaviours, through partnering and stakeholder management
• Lead a team of commercial management accountants across multi-sites
• Establish a quality and robust framework of financial management
• Work closely with Group on company-wide strategic initiatives
• Drive new opportunities, whilst delivering performance on the existing portfolio
• Deputise when required for the FD
• Whilst an extremely commercial and operational position; a solid background of control, processes and systems is desirable

• You will be a fully-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA)
• Proven experience in a contract driven commercial environment
• Excellent team management, and a natural mentor
• Ambitious leader, with future FD potential
• Happy with extensive travel, as this role can be based anywhere in the UK but midlands is ideal as a central base.
• Bid / tender experience, with a strong success record

You must have a full UK driving license to apply as extensive travel to sites, customers and head-office is expected. you are likely to be travelling circa 3 days per week...
