London, SW6

By helping us spend wisely, you can help us save lives.

The current terrorism threat is different to anything the UK has faced before. It is constantly evolving – and we must be ready to respond. The National Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (NCTPHQ) is the hub of our CT policing network. In a tough economic climate, NCTPHQ must be as cost-effective as possible. As Deputy Finance Business Partner, you’ll provide advice that will make our funding go further.

This is your opportunity to make a real contribution to the UK’s ability to fight terrorism and keep our citizens safe both at home and abroad. Your main task is to monitor NCTPHQ funding and report to a range of stakeholders. They include high-profile partners such as MOPAC, the Home Office and senior commanders. Your contacts will want details of how £0.5 billion funding is being used. The information you provide will help them make vital decisions. You’ll also advise a range of NCTPHQ personnel, as well as the wider CT network.

CCAB-qualified (or equivalent), you’ll be highly analytical and impeccably organised. You’ve given guidance on business decisions before, supporting senior figures. Thanks to this background, you have a broad range of experience. This covers financial management and planning; budgets; management reporting; investment appraisal; and financial management advice. Meanwhile, a gift for communication means you can explain complex matters clearly. Good with people and great in a team, you’re used to giving sound guidance. You’re also highly motivated and ready to solve problems.

To apply, please visit our website to download a role specific information pack and application form.

Completed applications must be returned by 3rd March 2017.

In the event of a high degree of interest, the MPS may choose to apply a cap to the number of applicants processed for this role.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
