You will lead the delivery of timely, accurate statutory accounts, be a first point of contact for external audit activities, assist in load and review of the group consolidation and provide comprehensive support on UK provisions

Client Details

My client are a global multi-national organisation within heavy industry. Across their UK divisions they operate circa 300 sites and employ upwards of 3,000 people.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

Statutory Accounts

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of statutory accounts
  • Liaison with external auditors in relation these accounts and co-ordination of the audit activities
  • Provide expertise and technical advice to management accounting and reporting teams as required
  • Interpretation of financial standards as required to propose appropriate accounting treatments
  • Group reporting

  • Support the accurate and timely submission of group reporting to international parent of monthly, quarterly and annual results as well as forecast and budget submissions
  • Responsibility for consolidation of one of the larger, more complex entities
  • Provide training, support and issue resolution support for the virtual team
  • liaison with management to address queries within the reported results
  • ensuring proper consolidation of results and elimination of intra group activity
  • Other items:

  • Co-ordination and first line review of quarterly VAT return
  • Oversight of all UK provisions and maintaining appropriate supporting documentation
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls and procedures
  • Any other tasks reasonably required by the finance department
  • Profile

    Job requirements:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA preferred)
  • Experience of complex accounting systems
  • Extensive technical accounting knowledge
  • Good financial accounting experience
  • Audit background favoured
