ERP Systems Accountant

My client is a global Plc, currently recruiting for a senior Accountant for a finance systems implementation role on a 6 month contract to commence in February 2017. Based primarily near Bournemouth the role will involve some travel within the UK and potentially overseas.

As part of the Finance transformation project the Senior Finance Systems Analyst will be pivotal in delivering process, system, data, and organisational and change activities, across all financial areas. Analyse, model, define and document the functionality of the new business processes and associated work instructions. Support process harmonisation and standardisation and scope management.

This senior role is directly responsible to the Finance Shared Services Manager for process alignment and integration of the UK Business Units process requirements into the Finance Transformation (FT) project, as a member of the business implementation team.

The role is functionally responsible to the FT Project Manager for global implementation of the Finance software and processes as follows:

• Facilitate or assist with process definition/validation workshops and provide end user training
• Maintain central repository of business processes and related artefacts and process SME feedback and improvement proposals
• Understand as-is and to-be financial processes and provide change impact analysis
• Verify the gap register for changes to the agreed scope prior to issuing
• Model business processes consistently and ensure harmonisation across the Sector and alignment with the process flows
• Maintain the solution glossary and cross BU translations;
• Produce process and procedure documentation, training content and test cases/scripts for functional testing;
• Assist with the management and communication of the transformation change process in accordance with company policy and procedures;
• Work proactively with business unit Subject Matter Expert (SMEs) support network/teams to assist in the implementation definition and delivery;
• Assist in the definition of scope and degree of data cleansing that will be required prior to transition of data to the new software system;

Candidates must be available at short notice and able to commit to a 6 month fixed term contract. You will ideally be fully qualified with a broad background within finance and experience with ERP implementation of finance transformation ideally within a large, complex organisation.

You will have a fundamental understanding of project management principles and an understanding of how IT and ERP systems can be employed to improve business efficiency. Candidates with a background within engineering / defence or aviation will have an advantage.
