Director of Accounting - Gloucester - Growing business


My client is a family run business that has been established for over 80 years, based in Gloucester. Due to expansion, through acquisition and organic growth they are now looking to recruit for a Director of Finance to support the Finance Director.

As the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing the Finance Department and producing individual and group accounts for both UK and foreign trading companies.

Leading the Accounting, Payroll, Costing and Transactional Teams, you'll develop their abilities and motivate them to perform tasks to the highest standards.

Managing employee insurance and benefits plans, you'll make sure that all staff are paid in a timely and accurate manner.

You'll provide high-end and value-adding financial analysis to support the ongoing success of the business and identify ways to enhance processes and systems. Additionally, you'll report on KPIs and clarify any variances on management accounts.

Your other duties will involve:

- Overseeing the management and financial accounting processes
- Monitoring risk management policies and procedures
- Identifying ways to maximise income
- Implementing procedures to ensure that employee and financial information is secure

To be considered, you must have:

- At least five years' finance management experience, some of which was gained within an SME business
- An ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification

As the Director of Finance, you must be an influential leader with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. You must also have a strong work ethic and the ability to foster a customer-focused, collaborative culture.

£54,000 - £56,000 DOE Plus Company Car Allowance, Individual Medical Insurance, Pension Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme, Early Finish on Friday, 24 Days' Holiday (rising with service) + Bank Holidays
