Assistant Management Accountant

Our client is an SME that are looking to expand their finance team by adding an assistant management accountant. They are searching for someone to support the Finance Director with the day-to-day running of the finance team. This is a well-rounded role for an aspiring part-qual because it's varied and fast-paced. You will report directly into the Finance Director and be given responsibility for the following:

*Preparing and reviewing the overhead costs for the monthly management accounts and ensure timeliness, completeness and accuracy.
*Providing regular agreed financial information to the operational overhead teams.
*Undertake ad-hoc analysis to understand operational performance as appropriate.
*Compiling the management accounts and annual budget.
*Challenging existing procedures with an aim to reduce overall reporting timelines.
*Supporting the business in appropriate new ways of financially focused process development.

Our client's ideal candidate will come from a fast-paced environment (engineering/manufacturing/construction) with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Engineering experience is desirable but not essential. Final stage CIMA/ACCA candidates are preferable but the client will also consider more junior options and those that are AAT qualified.
