Robertson Bell Finance is proud to be working alongside The Serious Fraud Office (SFO), a specialist prosecuting authority to recruit a Finance Manager for their Finance team.
The SFO is part of the UK criminal justice system, investigating and prosecuting economic crime cases where actual or potential financial loss involved is high, where there is a significant public interest element, and the apparent criminality undermines UK PLC commercial or financial interests in general and in the City of London in particular, actual or potential economic harm is significant.
SFO staff include investigators, accountants, lawyers, those skilled in digital forensics, and a variety of support and corporate roles.
The Finance Manager post is newly created after a recent re-structure and has been established to enhance the transactional and financial accounting function, giving you a great opportunity to make a lasting difference in the organisation.
Reporting directly into the Financial Controller the Finance Manager will primarily be responsible for managing and developing a team of Finance Officers. You will be instrumental in reviewing and improving policies/procedures to ensure the team works efficiently with an emphasis on customer service. The Finance team maintain the SFO's Finance system (e-Financials), as well as the expenses system and you will be a key link for non-finance users including providing training and promoting business wide engagement.
The successful candidate will be a proven team leader with the skills and commercial awareness to manage a team in a broad, business facing finance role. Previous demonstrable experience of team management and process improvement will be pivotal in being considered for this opportunity. Candidates from all sectors/ backgrounds will be considered providing you have the right persona to lead from the front and drive efficiencies.
The ideal candidate would have established themselves in a hands on Accounts Payable/Receivable function within a complex governmental or private sector organisation. For candidates looking to obtain an accountancy qualification full study support is available.
The SFO is committed to equality of opportunity and diversity in all its employment practices, policies and procedures. This means that no employee or potential employee will receive less favourable treatment due to their race, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic origin, disability, religion and belief, gender or marital status.
The Serious Fraud Office is committed to the employment and career development of people with disabilities. To demonstrate our commitment we operate a Guaranteed Interview Scheme. We guarantee an interview to anyone with a disability whose application meets the minimum selection criteria/competencies for the post.
There are a great many benefits of working for the SFO. Amongst other things on offer: option of joining the Civil Service pension scheme, 25 days leave (increasing to 30 days after five years' service), an additional holiday in recognition of the Queen's Birthday and the option to buy or sell up to five days' leave per year. We also offer a childcare voucher scheme, an interest-free season travel ticket loan, bicycle loan and cycle to work scheme, access to a Rental Deposit Salary Advance Scheme, flexible working arrangements and family-friendly policies.
