Commercial Finance Manager

An opportunity has arisen to join the UK division of this international business based out of their head office in Luton. Reporting directly to the head of division, the Finance Manager is responsible for providing an effective finance business partnering service to the Director of Operations and the senior Operations management team.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for identifying, assessing and driving commercial opportunities and projects across operations, and to take ownership for planning, forecasting and reporting for the area.

You will lead a small team responsible for providing comprehensive finance support to an area with a combined cost base of £249m. The operations finance team is responsible for producing insightful monthly reporting packs for presentation to senior management and has full ownership for the planning, pricing, budgeting and forecasting processes for the operations function. This will include identifying and managing risks and opportunities within their remit and ensuring that the P&L, balance sheet and cash impacts of forecast changes are accurately reflected.

The role will also work closely with key stakeholders to identify and drive the realisation of commercial opportunities. This will include providing commercial insight to projects, producing all financials to support business cases through the approvals process and working closely with the purchasing teams on contract negotiations.

There will be a need to assist with continuous improvement opportunities (both system and procedural) and to ensure all internal controls are fully adhered to (in some cases to COSO standards) so recommendations can be made for improvement.

As the ideal candidate you will hold a recognised accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA and have experience of working at a similar level within a commercial finance role. You will have experience of building and maintaining senior level relationships and posses the ability to influence change.
