Fast growing regional brand seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to join their finance team in Somerset. This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded accountant to add significant value within a changing/fast paced marketplace. You will partner with a multitude of senior stakeholders within the organisation on a daily basis, aiding in strategic/commercial decision making within the business.
The role
As a Commercial Finance Manager your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Responsibility for the accurate reporting of UK results to Group finance at period end.
- Day to day management of the UK Finance team, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
- Liaison with key UK department heads and UK and Digital Director to establish and maintain strong business partnering, ensuring group standards and requirements are met, and to work together to resolve any ongoing operational issues.
- Design, report and review monthly KPI’s for the UK business and understand the drivers behind the variances.
- Provide monthly finance and commercial reports and analysis providing commentary on and review of results and trends, leading P&L reviews at month end.
- Actively manage any action points arising from monthly P&L reviews.
- Preparation of annual budgets, and ongoing reforecasts.
- Ensure appropriate control environment.
- Management of retail store stock take programme and investigation of variance.
- Business partner Head of marketing & brand to provide key analysis into effectiveness of marketing spend.
- Participation in design and testing of new systems, particularly to reduce reliance on manual processes to improve efficiency and minimize risk of error.
- Competitor and pricing analysis.
- Ad hoc project work.
The Profile
- Ideally qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/ACMA) with 3-5 years PQE
- Comfortable working in a changing business environment
- Proven supervisory/managerial experience essential
- Good business partnering skills with an ability to drive decision making across multiple disciplines
- Ideally 1-3 years experience within a similar position
- Intermediate Excel skills (Vlookups, Pivot tables, Sum if’s)
