Sellick Partnership have been approached to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant for an exciting and growing business based in Blackburn. The successful person will take full responsibility for the Management Accounts for a division of the business. This is an excellent opportunity to prove yourself in an very autonomous role and will give you the opportunity to gain some great commercial exposure.

The role

* Preparing the month end board pack with commentary
* Assisting with month end brand presentations.
* Support the management account process from start to end including final reporting.
* Variance and trend analysis for consolidated company results and by site
* Daily, weekly and monthly KPI reporting
* Lead cost saving and profitability boosting initiatives with operational managers.
* Management and review of gross margins and overheads by site.
* Completing the balance sheet control account reconciliation
* Preparation and analysis of weekly P&Ls
* Annual budget preparation and quarterly reforecasting
* Monitoring performance against budget
* Assisting in the year end statutory audit process
* Liaising with operational staff to optimise performance, cost control and drive profitability
* Reviewing and improving finance processes and controls
* Other ad hoc projects as required by the senior management team

The person

  • Will be a CIMA or ACCA studier (study support will be offered)
  • Effective and professional communication skill
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise own workload within set deadlines
  • Proactive with a willingness to challenge traditional ways of working
  • Proficient with the company's financial processes
  • Commercially astute, with exposure to business processes and an understanding of the relationship between operations and P&L
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Accountancy skills and strong commercial awareness
  • Driven with a can do attitude
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and financial/operational systems
