Your new company:
AN £80m charity based in Central London with an a stated aim to protect the health and well-being of the public. This organisation works with health professionals and and review standards for their education, training, conduct and performance. The organisation are going through a period of transformation and systems improvement including a potential systems change will be part of that process.
Your new role:
The organisation are seeking an experienced Systems Accountant to ensure that they get the most out of their finance systems. You will be responsible for the process design, testing, implementation and training on new finance processes, system upgrades and development.You will monitor financial processes and controls in relation to systems, with a view to identifying issues, efficiency savings, improved controls and better management information.You will be the finance lead in income and payments projects and responsible for working with the wider organisation to represent finance. You will also work closely with the IT Directorate to ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements on systems. The current finance system (Open Accounts) is due to be reviewed and you will be central this review and implementation.
What you'll need to succeed:
You must be able to demonstrate strong systems skills. The client is open regarding the type of systems you have used - aptitude and personality are most important. Crucial to success in the role will be your ability to critically appraise existing systems, processes and controls and identify and implement changes to strengthen the control environment and increase efficiency. You must possess a 'can-do' and flexible attitude, the ability to work with staff at all levels of the organisation and the ability to take on all levels of a task as the need arises.
