Finance Manager

Hands-on finance manager opportunity for a qualified, part-qualified / QBE accountant to join our client, an established, successful and growing £5m turnover international consultancy, based in The City of London.   Benefits include private medical insurance, pension contribution, annual bonus and 25 days annual leave.

The Role

As finance manager you will report to the directors and will be supported, by a full-time and a part-time assistant.  You will take ownership of the all the day-to-day bookkeeping, accounting and reporting, and financial management for 4 entities.  Responsibilities will include:

• Develop, maintain and improve systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company’s finances.
• Manage and maintain job costing system and WIP.
• Produce and develop the monthly management accounts, KPIs and other reports as required for senior management and the Board.
• Manage and maintain client credit limits and approvals and create an effective credit control environment.
• Reconcile inter-company accounts
• Salary run for c 50 staff.
• Manage cash in an efficient and effective manner, including liaison with the bank.
• Manage and control costs to achieve best value 
• Liaise with external accountants / auditors and provide all required information.
• Look after all VAT and PAYE and other compliance matters.
• All other duties commensurate with a senior role

This highly successful international business has been established for almost 40 years and its growth and success has been achieved through providing high levels of service and organic growth. It has recently acquired another business in the same sector. 

The person

You must be an experienced hands on and adaptable finance manager or up and coming number 2, seeking an opportunity to develop your career as head of finance with the following attributes:

• Qualified, part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
• Previous experience in a finance manager role or as a number 2.
• Strong Excel.
• Strong communicator.
• Knowledge of SAGE 200 and/or JD Edwards is an advantage
