FRENCH SPEAKING ACCOUNTANT required for a leading Global Infrastructure Asset Management Company, managing a range of social infrastructure assets (education, health, housing etc.) in the UK and Europe. They require a part-qualified / finalist level to join their large and growing finance team. The Company have an excellent reputation and culture in developing employees with clear future progression on offer.
Due to growth my client are now looking for an Accountant to support / be the No.2 to the Finance Manager. We are looking for a fluent French national / speaker based in London or able to move to London to manage the operational / project finance requirements for my clients French based clients, assets and suppliers.
This role would suit a hard-working part-qualified accountant that wants to develop their career in the infrastructure / asset management sector with a leading company offering full training, development, support and future progression to Finance Manager and later Finance Director. They have a large finance team so lots of scope to be promoted and move up within the team in the future.
This role will provide high quality accounting services to a number of projects and affiliated Funds within our clients growing portfolio of infrastructure assets.
In addition, you will support the provision of effective project financial controls, and delivery of relevant, accurate and timely information.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of monthly/ quarterly local VAT returns, ensuring compliance with and understanding of local VAT and tax regulations through the use of the VAT checklist and compliance with internal procedures;
- Preparing Invoices to counterparties in accordance with the Project Agreements and ensure payment is received on time;
- Making payments to suppliers and ensure loan repayments and interest payments are made to banks (managing approval and signatory process);
- Managing bank accounts; ensure bank mandates/ online banking authorisers are up to date, monitor cash-flow to ensure sufficient funds available for payments, and manage cash balances to ensure optimum use through deposits;
- Preparing Drawdown Requests and ensure funds are received from Banks (applicable to projects in construction only);
- Assisting in completing the month end processes in accordance with the Monthly Control Sheet; prepare and post journals, finalise monthly trial balances;
- Assisting to prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, Cash-flow and Balance Sheet including variance analysis;
- Developing a basic understanding of the project company Financial Models and how they operate;
- Developing a good understanding of the terms and conditions of the key project documents, in particular regarding debt, revenue and costs;
- Developing and maintain clean and organised file structures;
- Establishing and maintain good relationships with the key stakeholders in the business, including the client, sub-contractors, project Directors;
- Understand the reporting requirements of all parties including project company, Banks and JV Partner’s accounting processes and procedures;
