Goodman Masson is pleased to be working with one of the UKs largest health charity to recruit a Senior Finance Analyst for their team.

We are looking for a highly numerate individual with an analytical approach to problem solving who is able to provide specialist advice and guidance to colleagues and management teams. In this role you will be responsible for managing the financial planning and management reporting and analysis for specified areas of the business.

You will also be expected to support and advise, and provide challenge to the relevant leadership team, adding value to business decision-making through challenge, initiative and foresight.

With the Finance Manager you will also be called upon to support and coach the Finance Analysts to ensure that reporting, budgeting and business partnering is carried out in the most effective and efficient manner.

Key responsibilities include:

*Lead on the preparation and execution of all financial planning for specified areas of the directorate. This will include forecasting, budgeting and 5 year financial planning, as well as inputs to strategy development.
*Produce and develop monthly and quarterly reporting for certain areas of the directorate. Lead on the analysis of trends and activity on a regular basis and feed findings into short-term forecasts and long term (5 year) plans.
*Provide analysis and scrutiny of financial outcomes, and other indicators of business performance, to inform decision making and direction.
*Build and develop knowledge and understanding of your area's operations and of external economic factors and their impact.
*Build strong relationships with Directors and Heads, and work closely with them to develop the scope and value of business partnering activity and ensure systems and processes meet the requirements for improved reporting and analysis.
*Support and develop the Finance Analysts (though no direct line management) in the preparation of management accounts, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and in identifying and delivering continuous improvement in Finance services and business partnering.

For this role, we are looking for someone with the following experience:

*Educated to degree level or equivalent
*Qualified accountant with post-qualification experience
*Significant experience of building, managing and evolving Business Partnering relationships at senior management level
*Relevant experience of financial planning, modelling and reporting
*Extensive IT skills, including Excel and data manipulation (e.g. use of pivot tables, v-lookups, macros, graphs), database management and report writing
*Knowledge of the charity and/or scientific research sectors and external economic factors that impact them (desirable)
