Michael Page has been engaged by a high growth private equity firm to support on the recruitment of a Financial Controller role within one of its newest investments. This will be a Nottinghamshire based finance position with excellent career prospects.

Client Details

My client is a fast growing group focused on developing a large network of businesses through acquisition across the country but focused predominately in London and the South East. Currently the business operates six sites, with a number of acquisitions in the pipeline. Within the next three years the business is expecting to grow to a group of 30 site.

The business is led by an entrepreneurial MD supported with an ambitious investment firm. The head office function will be based in Nottinghamshire.

Description

The Financial Controller will be full accountable for all financial reporting and developing effective systems and processes. This person would report directly into the MD for the business with a small team reporting into you.

The individual would have the following responsibilities:

  • Weekly, monthly and annual reporting
  • Management of Debtors, payables and payroll
  • Implementation and control of nursery management systems for each nursery
  • Financial integration of new nurseries as they are acquired
  • Company statutory books and records
  • Companies House and HMRC

Profile

The ideal candidate for this Financial Controller position will have a multi-site back background with a clear ability to support an MD with business growth. Along with the professional qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), the ideal candidate will:

  • At least seven years of experience, including at least two years of supervisory responsibility
  • Ideally some background in education, healthcare or children services
  • Experience of working in a complex growing business
  • Proficient in Sage and excel
  • Comfortable working in a small but entrepreneurial team

Job Offer

The business is looking for the ideal candidate and hence will pay accordingly. The business has bench marked the position between £45,000 and £55,000 + benefits.
