JOB SUMMARY:

The Global MI Finance Manager is a brand new role within our group finance team that will be responsible for the management information and reporting process, and the key person to ensure a seamless operation with the IT function managing our MI systems. They will lead on ensuring a consistent high quality global reporting framework with effective and insightful management reporting at its core. Working closely with Group and Divisional finance to define reporting needs and developments and operate a culture of continuous improvement in our management reporting and processes.

 


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Global Process owner for MI
• Shape MI strategic roadmap and reporting vision with clear understanding of business priorities
• Focus on continuous improvement of MI Reporting including flexibility to developing strategic focus
• Chair Global MI Steering Committee, including helping to balance conflicting priorities and resources across the business
• Approve changes to MI applications, including KPIs, driver based models and reports - seeking input from the Steering Committee and facilitating user acceptance testing where appropriate
• Maintain quality and integrity of reporting data and process
• Propose and approve changes to the MI processes- seeking input from the Steering Committee and facilitating user acceptance testing where appropriate
• Agree and approve MI application and technical changes
• Agreement and implementation of global standard report “kite marked” pack
• Attendance of monthly MI service reviews to review operational service, issues and help needed
• Devise training programs and on-boarding programs with support of MI system team


 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 
• Able to communicate, influence and work effectively with global stakeholders
• Business focused thinking and ability to interpret and articulate requirements of management
• Has experience working in a global business and understands local complexities 
• Understands what “good” MI reporting looks like and can draw on external information sources to gain insight on reporting processes, trends and best in class practice
• Strong demonstrable experience of creating and standardizing processes
• Strong grasp of techniques and methodologies to deliver business outcomes
• Deep understanding of end to end reporting process – finance source data through systems to reporting
• Has implemented and delivered global standard “stamped” reporting packs
• Accountant with previous experience of operational and group finance
• Experience working in a Hyperion & Oracle system infrastructure
• Ability to focus on detail but also understand the bigger picture and balance the two dynamics
