Financial Controller needed to join a growing SME in South Yorkshire

Client Details

This South Yorkshire based client is a leading business within their market. They have grown as a business consistently over the past 20 years and have operational sites throughout the UK but their HQ is based in South Yorkshire.

Description

  • Statutory accounts preparation
  • Management accounts prep on a monthly basis
  • Hands-on accounting and reporting
  • Liaise with different departments to ensure the finance department is properly supporting the needs of the operating business.
  • Preparation of Budgets, Forecasts and Business plans.
  • Assessing finance strategy and evaluating business performance
  • Monthly HMRC returns and Intrastat, and payroll management.
  • Monthly cash posting and forecasts.
  • Preparation of supplier payments
  • Managing a team of 5
  • Key liaison for HMRC, Banking, Insurance, regulatory and external audit relationships
  • Assistance with production of year end accounts
  • Proficient in the use of excel
  • Ownership of performance and commercial reporting including WIP, job costing, Contract Profitability analysis and the effective management of working capital.
  • The development and presentation of internal Management Information and Management Accounts packs.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the businesses accounting records and financial systems.
  • Ad hoc tasks as and when required by the owners and the management team.

Profile

  • The ideal candidate will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified.
  • They will have strong management accounting and financial analysis experience
  • They will be keen to further their career within an challenging and progressive business
  • They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Interpersonally they will have excellent skills liaising with senior stakeholders across the business
  • A clear ability to present financials to none finance
  • Clear comfortable and confident communicating both verbally and via email
  • A logical and analytical approach to problem solving
  • An enquiring mind and the ability to draw their own conclusions and act accordingly
  • Attention to detail
  • Advanced excel skills

Job Offer

£40,000 to 50,000
