PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT - LONDON - Our Client is a well-established property company with a prestigious portfolio under management. They now have a requirement for an experienced Property Accountant to join the team on site at one of their assets. The real estate arm of the illustrious investment firm possesses an impressive array of properties and are continually looking to acquire and integrate new assets into the portfolio. The business is extremely well respected and is a reputable company who continually look to encourage career progression.

THE ROLE:

  • Maintaining the asset on the accounts system, adding tenants, leases, company info etc. on the current system.
  • Set up service charge budget on system and undertake monthly service charge analysis.
  • Maintaining the tenancy schedule for the estate.
  • Quarterly rental, service charge and utility billings for the estate.
  • Credit control to ensure that tenants pay their bills in accordance with the terms of their leases.
  • Preparing VAT returns.
  • Preparation of trial balance.
  • Performing bank reconciliations.
  • Weekly transfers of rental income to the client.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of the quarterly bank report for this asset.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly finance information for management meetings.
  • Undertaking annual service charge reconciliation and audit.
  • Handling tenant queries.
  • Other ad hoc duties associated with day-to-day financial management of the estate.

 

THE PERSON: In order to apply, you must have 3+ years finance experience within a property accounting environment and ideally possess an accounting qualification. It is desirable that the chosen candidate has strong working knowledge of one of the leading property management systems such as YARDI or TRAMPS as well as Excel. The role requires the incumbent to effectively liaise with property managers and other non-finance staff therefore possess strong written and verbal communication skills. It is essential that the chosen candidate has strong reconciliation skills and sound knowledge of double entry accounting.
