I am recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join a successful and expanding business based in Cheshire. As Management Accountant reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play an integral part in supporting management in decision-making to ensure future stability, growth and profitability of the company.

Duties:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for allocated subsidiary companies in line with agreed deadlines
- Preparation of detailed monthly financial analysis including commentary where appropriate
- Provide timely, insightful and accurate reporting
- Responsible for all areas of the P&L and balance sheet for allocated subsidiary companies and completing cost reviews
- Preparation of all balance sheet reconciliations including intercompany accounts for allocated subsidiary companies with explanations for variances. Ensure that all reconciling items are fully supported
- Ensure that monthly and quarterly VAT returns are completed on time, reconciled and submitted to HMRC
- Support accounts payable, treasury and credit control teams to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and on a timely basis
- Challenge existing processes to ensure best practice
- Help produce forecasts and budgets
- Assisting with year-end and interim audits being a key point of contact on a daily basis
- Deal with queries of a tax or legal nature, liaise with HMRC, auditors and other relevant bodies to ensure compliance
Qualifications and Experience:
- Studying towards CIMA, ACCA or similar accounting qualification
- High level of numeracy, able to explain complex financial information in a clear way
- Accuracy in information produced, professionalism and commitment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- IT proficiency - High level of excel skills required and working knowledge of SAGE 200 would be an advantage
