*Production of the corporate finance budgets and twice yearly reforecasts which will be consolidated into the University position;

*Review and manage the central payroll upload and reconciliation;

*Assist in the preparation of the consolidated budget and associated commentary for SMT and Finance Committee

*Assist in the preparation of the period end analysis and reporting for the University, for SMT, Finance Committee and other senior audiences as appropriate;

*Prepare and reconcile month end suspense accounts and the research ledger;

*Analyse and review student number and staff headcount data for the University;

*Support the Financial Accounting team in the production of the Annual Financial Statements and HESA returns;


*The provision of ad hoc analysis and analytical review as required in a clear and timely manner;

*Developing a good working relationship with school, professional service and subsidiary company management accountants to gain an understanding of their activities and to offer a professional Finance function;

*Developing a good working relationship with school, professional service and subsidiary company management accountants in order to share best practice and to develop new systems and processes;

*Such other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as may be assigned by the Senior Management Accountant

In addition to these duties the post holder will be expected to be flexible in helping his/her colleagues with other aspects of the work of the Department when required to do so.

He/she will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job description as requested by the line manager or Head of Department.
