Finance Manager

Recent private-equity investment, to fuel an acquisition driven expansion strategy, has been the catalyst for this Liverpool based business to create and re-shape a number of senior and middle-management positions.

As such, they are now seeking a technically gifted, people focused Finance Manager to join the organisation. A mid-sized player in an increasingly specialist market, the last year has been a very successful one. External investment, organic growth driven by some high-profile contract wins and a key acquisition have all played their part. What that leaves is a business with great potential but a number of major challenges. Systems, people and processes are all undertaking a programme of change in order to provide the right platform to succeed.

In a technically challenging role, you will assist (and according to plan succeed) the Financial Controller: both with the month to month demands as well as the key change projects. Greater sophistication is required in a number of areas, ranging from systems and processes through to people development. Creating a structure that is fit for even current purpose would be a challenge, though would not suffice. With further expansion in the pipeline, your ability to build and motivate a diverse team for what the future will look like will be central to your challenge.

You will most likely have started your career within a practice environment, given the technical challenges within the role. A subsequent move into industry post-qualification (ACCA or ACA) will have given you the required hands on exposure and you will now be ready to consolidate this in a role which combines the demands of people, mentoring, coaching, development, deadlines, change and technical capability.
