THE COMPANY:
Brewster Pratap are recruiting an experienced Cash Allocation Assistant for a large, reputable Sheffield based organisation. Close to the motorway they are commutable from Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster.
THE JOB:
The main purpose of the role is to ensure all payments are allocated to the right accounts and investigating any unallocated items.
Reporting to the Cash Allocation Supervisor duties will include:
Efficient processing of cheques and electronic bank receipts on to the financial systems in line with defined processes and procedures.
Accurate and timely allocation of receipts to the correct accounts and against the correct invoices, minimising levels of unallocated cash.
Liaising with branches to ensure the accurate reconciliation of cash sales tills, including credit card receipts.
Assisting the Cashiers team to resolve bank reconciliation queries in relation to the sales ledger bank accounts.
Assisting with the reconciliation of cash receipts related general ledger accounts and the resolution of imbalances.
Resolving customer issues as they arise
Ensuring service levels are maintained in line with those agreed with customers.
Proactive approach to problem solving escalating problems to the business and team supervisor at the right time
Assisting with continual process and system improvements to streamline activities and increase the accuracy of results
Building relationships with key customers within the business (Credit Control, Shared Service Finance teams, branches)
To carry out any reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall Cash Allocation function
THE PERSON:
Previous experience is desirable
You must be able to prioritise your work load and meet deadlines
You will be articulate and able to communicate at all levels
Strong numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential
Working knowledge of Excel at Intermediate level is required
