As the Bookkeeper you will be supported by a Central Management Accountant, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for maintaining oversight of the sites financial performance.

On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Manage petty cash for the site, always ensuring that sufficient cash is available.
  • Managing credit card purchases and ensuring that all arise within Group Policy.
  • Ensure cheques, cash, credit card transaction slips are securely stored at all times and that processes with regard to recording of all transactions are duly followed.
  • Manage the banking for the site, working with Head Office to ensure all accounts reconcile.
  • Manage cheque requests between the site and Head Office.
  • Assist the management accountant with the reconciliation of period end accounts.
  • Assist each head of department with the monitoring and management of both monthly and annual budgets.
  • Ensure Purchase Orders (POs) are raised by all HOD's in accordance with Group Policy.
  • Support HODs to ensure the delegation of authority is complied with and budgets not exceeded.
  • Ensure all invoices and delivery notes for site supplies are collated, scanned and sent to Support Office, and assist Head Office with the processing of these where possible.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register for the site.
  • Perform annual fixed asset checks.
  • Manage the annual CAPEX budget and ensure all CAPEX expenditure during the year is in accordance with policy.

To be successful in your application for the position of Bookkeeper, you will be:

  • AAT qualified of part qualified.
  • Good basic understanding of Finance, Budgets Financial Management and the management of Finances and business.
  • Excellent administration and organisation skills.
  • Ability to organise and priorities workload, and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communications skills - verbal and written.
  • IT literate. Able to work in Excel and Word
