Reporting directly to the Partners, the Trust Manager will have responsibility for their own caseload and for helping to manage the effectiveness and efficiency of a team of 3 professional staff. The role will include the accounting, taxation, general administration and advice on a varied and interesting Trusts and Estates caseload. The manager will be expected to build and maintain excellent client relationships.

Description
- Preparation of annual trust accounts including charitable trusts;
- Preparation of estate accounts to cover the administration period;
- Preparation of self-assessment tax returns for family trusts, charitable trusts, settlors, estates and beneficiaries including calculation of tax liabilities and advising payment of tax due under self-assessment;
- Preparation of paperwork for probate applications;
- Cash flow management, liaising with brokers to raise funds when required and day to day record keeping;
- Advising clients on suitable trust strategies regarding additions, distributions and inheritance tax consequences;
- Monitoring all trusts to ensure ten-year anniversaries are actioned promptly, preparation of inheritance tax returns for lifetime transfers, anniversaries and exits as appropriate;
Profile
The successful candidate will have Trusts and Estates experience and although not essential, Personal Tax experience would be beneficial. We would ideally be looking for an individual from an Accounting background with proven management experience. CTA and STEP qualified would be an advantage.
