Robertson Bell Finance are working with a leading mental health charity with a turnover of circa £35 million in Tipton, West Midlands in recruiting a VAT Accountant. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the VAT Accountant will take full ownership of tax reporting and ensuring the organisation is compliant, while maximising VAT recovery and overseeing intercompany reports.
Responsibilities will include:
* Lead the charities VAT recovery while developing the reporting system and driving efficiency
* Main point of contact for HMRC, external tax advisors and auditors and internal tax queries
* Manage tax, legal and accounting compliance across the charity's intercompany relationships
* Lead on the production of management and annual accounts and present variance and other related issues to the Board
* Deputise for the Head of Finance acting as coach and mentor for other members of staff as well as managing an assistant
The successful candidate will need experience working with subsidiaries or in a complex organisation with working knowledge in tax compliance, VAT and HMRC regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make the role their own, leading and developing a team while driving change. The position allows you to develop your experience in VAT and tax and be part of a fun and dynamic team.
