Job Description:
Reporting directly to Audit Partner this is an excellent opportunity to join an international bank as Audit Manager – Credit Risk. Woking as part of Group Internal Audit and proving full 3rd line of defence services you will provide assurance on 1st and 2nd line of defence in risk management, control and corporate governance across the UK Group. You will provide independent and risk based assurance to meet all key stakeholders needs including Board, Group Audit Committee, external Regulators and Auditors. Further responsibility includes...
- Act as SME on areas of allocated responsibility across the UK Group
- Work closely with the Audit Partner and Managing Partner to ensure watertight assurance programme is devised and executed to provide objective risk based assurance
- Ensure the audit team have an in-depth understanding of the key priorities and risks facing the business units
- Lead in the planning, execution and reporting of assurance and review activities
- Support business units in identifying the appropriate actions required to address and improve risk management practices and control frameworks
- Develop mutually beneficial relationships with senior management
- Undertake Continuous Monitoring and feed into quarterly risk assessment and Audit Opinion
- Act as a coach and mentor

The Person:
- ACA, ACCA, IIA qualification or equivalent.
- Strong technical audit management experience coupled with a high degree of commercial awareness
- Strong understanding of risk management, governance and internal audit
- Proven track record in leading and delivering internal audits within Banking and/or Financial Services
- Excellent client management skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to operate in a challenging and dynamic environment
- Strong knowledge of credit risk in Banking (ideally retail products for secured and unsecured lending)
- Familiarity with current credit risk practices and credit risk mitigation techniques would be advantageous
