Commercial Accountant

This FMCG company is looking for a commercial accountant with sales to deliver the channel sales plan, budget and forecast through generating detailed and insightful analysis, commentary and challenge to underpin commercial decision support whilst driving rigour into the sales spend.

This role will have a focus on providing a forward-looking outlook on the Profit + Loss, identifying revenue and margin enhancing opportunities across strategic customers. 

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting planning, budgeting and forecasting work in the detail of financial analysis and reporting, whilst influencing and constructively challenging and supporting the sales function.
• Identifying and driving revenue and margin enhancing opportunities.
• Influencing the planning, budget and forecasting process to deliver business goals.
• Working with sales, finance and demand planning to prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecast, providing strong financial support throughout.
• Actively attend channel business reviews and team meetings, making relevant challenges where appropriate, in particular, leading the financial aspects of the review.
• Delivering and support annual price & excise increases, pro-actively seeking facts to support the selling stories.
• Assessing financial aspects of customer joint business plans and contracts using established financial evaluation tools
• Supporting Pricing and Marketing Analysts in maintaining accurate and appropriate accruals for the relevant customers.

The ideal candidate for this role must have:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified

• Strong Excel modelling skills
• SAP Knowledge and previous FMCG Experience
• Technical Accounting.
• Strong Track record of influencing non-financial decisions makers
