Financial Controller

To provide a sound and strong leadership for the Business and the organisation in general, ensuring that reporting is undertaken regularly, timely and accurately within a strong, robust financial control environment. To be responsible for providing the business partnering service to the commercial aspects of the business. To ensure the finance function has continuous improvement embedded within its “business as usual” operations and to ensure finance processes are efficient and effective.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the production of the annual financial statements,
• Ensuring month end and quarter end deadlines are met
• Analysis of transactions requiring recoding, investigate causes and resolve any issues
• Working with budget holders to better understand and report operational performance within the financial reporting framework. To link costs with operational performance to better understand productivity.
• Assisting the Financial Controller with the compilation of information for Funders, HCA and others to agreed timescales
• Working with the budget holders to produce monthly financial forecasts
• Lead in the compilation of budgets to cover all of Raven’s activities
• Working with budget holders to produce monthly accurate cashflow reporting for areas where there is high expenditure or volatility
• Responsible for the annual review of service charges and rent levels
• Leading on providing financial support to the commercial aspects of the business
• Assisting the finance team, deliver its KPIs

The ideal candidate for this role must have:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
• Experience managing a large team
• Preparation of statutory accounts & audit files
• Preparation of budgets, financial and management accounts, cash flow forecasts etc.
• Advanced Excel
• Good communication skills
