Management Accountant

Our client is a successful transport / haulage / logistics business who are seeking a Management Accountant for a period of 6 - 8 weeks to provide support while they recruit a permanent employee. The role will involve preparing management information, P&L and flash reports for the management team, specifically the transport department.

Strong management accounts experience is essential and experience in a transport or logistics environment would be a bonus but not essential.

Duties:

*Prepare and distribute daily and weekly P&L Flash results to the senior team
*Advise & make business P&L recommendations as a result of these results.
*Ensure that the accounts are accurate and that the monthly accounts are a true reflection of the sites trading performance.
*Close management of PL and SL for the site to maintain an effective financial control.
*Co-ordinate the preparation of the site budget and forecasting process
*Monthly reconciliation of appropriate balance sheet accounts
*Spend time with relevant staff (operations, management, transport, account management) including time on the shop floor to gain an understanding of processes and costs in order to maintain accurate costings.
