Robertson Bell Finance is proud to be working alongside The Serious Fraud Office (SFO), a specialist prosecuting authority to recruit a Finance Business Partner for their Finance team.

The SFO is part of the UK criminal justice system, investigating and prosecuting economic crime cases where actual or potential financial loss involved is high, where there is a significant public interest element, and the apparent criminality undermines UK PLC commercial or financial interests in general and in the City of London in particular, actual or potential economic harm is significant.

The Finance Business Partner will report directly into the Head of Business Partnering. As part of a small team within Finance you will be exposed to a broad range of duties, working at pace to support business areas and inform strategic and operational decisions. Due to the complexity and the high profile projects you will be exposed to, you will work across the organisation, engaging with investigators, accountants, lawyers, those skilled in digital forensics, and a variety of support and corporate roles. You will ensure that the finance function protects and adds value, matching resources to priorities and supporting the senior management team in the delivery of their duties.

Specifically, this role will be responsible for; working with budget holders to ensure their performance against budgets are understood; provide financial performance projections across the business areas; leading the monthly management accounts for the business areas, including all income and costings; support in budgeting through the annual budget cycle and lead on forecasting processes for the new financial year; develop and maintain a framework for case portfolio accounting to ensure spending is accurately recorded and tracked; analyse benefits of projects in comparison to those stated within business cases; provide Finance business partnering support to all projects and programmes that are managed by the directorates.

The successful candidate will be a CCAB qualified accountant and would suit someone with a 'can do' attitude, on an upwards career path trajectory that has the drive and enthusiasm to learn and progress within this role. You will be a lateral thinker with an inquisitive approach and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels, yet still be head strong to deliver and extract information in an effective manner. This exceptional opportunity is best suited for candidates from either a Private Sector or a Governmental background.

The SFO is committed to equality of opportunity and diversity in all its employment practices, policies and procedures. This means that no employee or potential employee will receive less favourable treatment due to their race, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic origin, disability, religion and belief, gender or marital status.

There are a great many benefits of working for the SFO. Amongst other things on offer: option of joining the Civil Service pension scheme, 25 days leave (increasing to 30 days after five years' service), an additional holiday in recognition of the Queen's Birthday and the option to buy or sell up to five days' leave per year. We also offer a childcare voucher scheme, an interest-free season travel ticket loan, bicycle loan and cycle to work scheme, access to a Rental Deposit Salary Advance Scheme, flexible working arrangements and family-friendly policies.
