A privately owned business and market leader in their chosen field is looking to recruit a Finance Manager for their Manchester office to support the CFO, Head of Finance and manage a small team.

The Finance Manager role is pivotal in the submission of statutory accounts and will be involved in a number of key projects across the wider operational business. The role is a requirement for a minimum of 12 months.

The role of Finance Manager in Manchester is pivotal across the main Group and wider business and as such the key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support to the Group FC and FD
  • Managing/providing support to team of 4 qualified accountants and a number of trainees
  • Supporting and reviewing direct reports in the completion of their duties including monthly management accounts, board reports, quarterly group reporting, quarterly divisional consolidations, year-end audit and the production of statutory accounts
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly cash flow forecasts
  • Quarterly balance sheet and P+L forecasting and the annual budgeting process
  • Business partnering role to the operational teams; assisting with ad-hoc queries, cash flow forecasting, annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasting, as well as providing financial support to aid commercial decision-making
  • Dealing with any technical queries that may come up across the relevant divisions by researching and coming up with the correct accounting treatment
  • Attendance at internal meetings including divisional Board Meetings, meetings with JV partner and IT project meetings
  • Assist in management of numerous bank facilities with different lenders
  • Key role in annual audit, organising information flow and dealing with more difficult queries. Working with the team to ensure that c80 companies are audited and statutory accounts are produced.
  • Quarterly balance sheet forecast for the Group
  • Involvement in implementation of new reporting system, SAP
  • Management/HR responsibilities to wider team, including annual appraisals, exam support, mentoring and coaching
  • Other ad-hoc project work including assisting on refinancing of bank facilities and investment appraisal to aid decision-making

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with extensive experience in the production of statutory accounts within a wide ranging and complex environment.
