FD/CFO

Our client is an innovative pre-revenue business based in London operating in the fintech sector.   The CEO is a young highly innovative entrepreneur who recognises the need to engage an experienced hands-on FD/CFO who can devise the correct financial structure and strategy as the business moves towards the revenue stage.

The company

It has a team of c.15 staff and has a fully functioning B2B and B2C product. The management team consist of the CEO, CTO, COO and a head of trading. 

The Role

The purpose of the role is to deliver an effective CFO/FD service to add value to the company and support the founder so he can grow and manage the business towards an exit.  The day-to-day processing and management accounts are currently being prepared by the external accountants. 

Key responsibilities:  

• Strategic cash management  
• Play a leading role in identifying and sourcing investment.  
• Play a leading role in investor negotiations and relations
• Determine appropriate KPIs
• Hands on as necessary including creation of a comprehensive business budget/cashflow model
• Oversee the accounts and processes
• Ensure that compliance and statutory obligations  are met

Key attributes and knowledge:

• Start-up experience within a high growth environment
• Strong commercial awareness and experience and skills
• Experience of fintech or tech business would be an advantage
• Business sale/exit experience
• Ability to challenge founder, team members and stakeholders  as appropriate
• Qualified accountant
• Can work 1 to 2 days per month with flexibility

Terms and remuneration

• Salary £1,000 to £2,000 per day
• Expected input to be 1 to 2 days per month
