Economic Analyst

The Transfer Pricing team of a large global Accounting & Advisory firm is seeking a number of junior economists for a variety of commercial roles with strong long term career potential. A constantly changing and increasingly significant field, the transfer pricing team helps clients establish and document market based pricing terms in the context of transactions between parts of multinational businesses. Market pricing is required by Government legislation to ensure profit/losses are appropriately allocated to tax jurisdictions and the work often involves complex analyses in particular where there is no clear or observable market price.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Price planning & optimisation studies
• Analysing company value chains to identify and price cross border transactions
• Benchmarking of market prices across all industries and transaction types
• Industry analysis to understand and articulate industry value drivers
• Interviewing clients to understand activities and value drivers for our clients businesses
• Economic valuation (including both shares, businesses and IP assets)
• Tax authority enquiries and Advance Pricing Agreements
• M&A due diligence - deal support
• Documentation of pricing policies

The Candidate:

• Ideally with a Masters/PhD degree in an Economics related discipline or equivalent
• Highly motivated with drive, enthusiasm and a good work ethic
• An aptitude for working as a consultant, with strong people skills for engaging our clients and team members
• Any previous exposure to transfer pricing would be an advantage
