Management Accountant

My Client a Leading Media Business in London is looking for a Management Accountant to join their head office team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager the Management Accountant will be responsible for:

• Participate in the annual, quarterly and monthly budgeting and forecasting process
• Management Reporting & Support
• Work with the management accounts team to meet reporting timetables and responsibilities
• Prepare of month-end adjustment journals, balance sheet reconciliations, confirmation of intercompany balances, review of prepayments and accruals
• Prepare monthly accounts for review the UK Financial Controller
• Provide monthly management information for discussion at management meetings, to include:
• Comparison of actual to budget information, with analysis as required
• Comprehensive commentary for management review, covering variances and arising trends
• Ad hoc commercial / financial tasks as required
• Assisting in the implementation and optimization of the new accounting system, Maconomy
• Work with management to establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard the company assets and operations
• Ensure accurate and up to date entry of all transactions
• Reconciliations and review of balance sheet accounts for accuracy, with commentary / explanations where necessary
• Ensure any suspense account balances are fully explained and cleared down
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns and submission to Customs and Excise
• Ensure SOX compliance across all control and oversee SOX audits
• Assist in the preparation of financial statutory year end accounts
• Manage the FA register
• Year-end liaison with Auditors, Accountants and Tax Advisors to help finalise accounts as appropriate
• Liaison with Advisors on all company secretarial aspects

Successful candidates will be Part Qualified Graduates in either ACCA or CIMA. Candidates will have a minimum of 3 years' management accounts experience. Candidates will be working within a project time based organization and high volume service.
