Qualified Financial Accountant

Shawbrook Bank is currently looking to recruit a qualified Financial Accountant into its established Financial Accounting Function based in Brentwood. This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified accountant to join a high performing central function. This role offers excellent exposure to the business and the opportunity for the successful candidate to get involved in a wide variety of accounting activities. As Financial Accountant you will be responsible for providing accounting and administrative support to the wider business.

Key responsibilities will include the following:

• Recording daily movements of the lending portfolio and the deposits business area.
• Completing Bank Reconciliations
• Carrying out month end tasks including accruals, deferred income and control account reconciliations. Accounting for commissions, clawbacks and interest income.
• Leading project work from a finance perspective.
• Ad-hoc duties as and when to support the finance team.

Suitable candidates will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Finalist level or newly qualified ACCA/ACA
• Previous experience of working within the financial services industry would be useful but not essential.
• At least intermediate level of excel including V-lookups & Pivot tables.
• Excellent technical accounting knowledge, including exposure to IFRS reporting.
• Proven track record of delivering to tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Able to demonstrate an analytical and solutions focussed approach to work.
