A small owner managed private client wealth manager is looking to secure a General Manager for a newly created role. This unique position is newly created and designed to support the Partners of the business with the day to day running of the firm from a support perspective. Responsibilities will be incredibly varied and you'll need to be happy and comfortable in a hands on role. Please note that direct experience in wealth or asset management is essential given the highly specialised nature of the position.
Responsibilities will include:
- Oversight and improvement of day to day client services processes.
- Manage all monthly accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Responsible for preparing/creating regular and ad hoc internal sales and financial reports that review performance, measure productivity and suggest areas for improvement.
- Work with the Partners around strategic planning and forecasting.
- Support all hiring, training and staff development.
- Assist with marketing activities where required.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies.
- Involvement in a host of ad hoc project work as required.
Your background:
- Experience in a senior management or leadership role in the wealth or asset management sectors. Experience is a small and preferably owner managed business is essential.
- Preferably some experience of working in Finance or at least managing your own P&L.
- A generalist background given this role with cover elements of operations, finance, risk, compliance, HR and commercial strategy / decision making.
- An approachable and flexible personality; happy to pick up new tasks and responsibilities, organised, forward thinking and able to plan and prioritise your day.
