Our client is a global financial exchange requiring an Accounts Assitant - Accounts payable on a 12 month fixed term contract acting as maternity cover.
The role based in the City, London.
Overall Purpose:
This role, as accounts payable, focuses on the recording and processing of all purchase invoices and purchase ledger.
Responsibilities:
- The day to day tasks will include:
- Input all purchase invoices and match to PO's on a daily basis within agreed timelines.
- Set up new suppliers in the Finance system
- Process weekly supplier and expenses payment runs via Bacs/Chaps/International/Direct debits.
- Process credit card statements
- Weekly reconciliation of supplier statements to the finance system.
- Liaise with internal colleagues on general queries to/from suppliers to resolve supplier queries.
- Check and process invoices and expenses in accordance with Company guidelines
- Produce a monthly creditors report.
- Complete bank reconciliations for multicurrency bank accounts on a monthly basis to provide accurate information in the management accounts.
- Understanding of Internal Controls and Compliance procedures
- Monitor accruals and other ad hoc reporting for the monthly management accounts.
Academic and Professional Qualifications Required:
- Basic accounting - understanding of double entry essential.
Required Knowledge and Level of Experience:
- Experience of purchase ledger procedures
- Use of Oracle R12
- MS Office : Advanced Excel, Word
- Electronic banking experience
