Senior Accounting Manager

An individual is required for a Senior Accounting Manager position for a leading services organisation based in Reading. Remuneration for the role is between £65,000- 70,000.

This is a fantastic opportunity to undertake a leadership position in which you will be part of the Group Financial Controller's senior team and leading a team of up to 10. You will need to be an experienced financial accountant to qualify for this position, used to working as part of an integrated finance team to add value to the business, with up to date knowledge of accounting concepts and standards.

The key responsibilities within this role include:

• Maintain the accounting, integrity and financial processes and procedures of the financial ledgers for company.
• Ensure staff have clear objectives, appropriate training and support.
• Process owner for key financial transactions: financial close, payroll, accounts payable/ receivable.
• Working with the SOX implementation team to implement SOX standard processes and controls in financial accounting.
• Responsible for the monthly and annual financial accounts closure.
• Treasury management, Tax compliance and reporting and preparation of the annual external audit, of the statutory accounts.
• Preparation and submission of quarterly and annual contractor returns.

The preferred candidate for this position will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience in financial accounting and working as part of an integrated finance team. Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage high workloads is highly sought after. Furthermore, good communication skills are essential as you will need to manage and motivate a team. Working in a SOX environment, while not essential, would be advantageous.
