ABPM as experts in financial recruitment have been appointed by a construction firm who have offices in North Birmingham recruit a Finance Manager. The successful individual will be a recently qualified accountant who is ideally looking for their first or second operational role within Industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reporting to the Financial Controller and Management teams, the individual will provide accurate and prompt information on the finance for their department.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for the region within agreed deadlines.
  • The individual will oversee all cash forecasting for the region by looking at risks, opportunities and the cash reporting. Providing the management team with forecasts of price variance and challenging the sales team to reduce risk with legal complications. Furthermore assisting with the budget and forecast analysis with the production of monthly variance reports.
  • Ensuring all systems and processes in place are still efficient to use. If not, looking at new systems and process to implement.
  • Working closely with construction sites to ensure all action plans are in effect and being used furthermore making sure that management on sites have a good understanding of the cash requirements so all processes are followed and understood. Managing risk on site by identifying cash improvement opportunities.
  • Adhoc reporting when needed by Management. Supporting the cash flow reports and any other reports that must be completed when requested.
  • Leading the team to ensure a smooth running finance function.

ESSENTIAL

  • You will need to be a qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/ACMA
  • Excellent IT skills, the individual must be able to adapt to various IT systems quickly and have a good understanding of Microsoft packages such as Excel.
  • The individual will have to be able to communicate with people of all levels.
  • Is an efficient worker, who can prioritise and meet tight deadlines.

Experience or knowledge of the construction industry is preferred however not essential.
