This newly created Financial Controller position will be responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, management reporting, costing of new business and other key areas of financial control.

Drive and motivation are essential as the successful candidate will manage a small team and bring alignment across the business. You will also support the FD and senior management in the operation and strategy of the company.

Detailed Job Description
The Financial Controller is responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, internal management reporting, cash management, tax compliance, accounts payable, payroll, credit/collections and the costing of new business.


This role will help bring alignment across the organisation through clear understanding of the business drivers and their impact on the Company's strategies and operating results.


Responsibilities include:

  • Drive timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process, manage the year-end audit process and provide a report of financial results in accordance with UK and US GAAP.
  • Generate the financial information, analyses and recommendations that provide the management team with the dashboard reporting they need to effectively manage their operations and resources, and to meet the company's goals and objectives.
  • Develop policies and procedures that provide for proper internal controls and ensure data integrity; initiate periodic audits to ensure proper compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement and develop new and progressive ways to improve the transparency of financial data.
  • Manage the process of costing for new business, ensuring completeness of costs and appropriate pricing to drive margin improvement.
  • Directly impact working capital improvements through the management of the accounts payable, credit and collections and cash management functions.
  • Perform other duties, including special projects, as required.


Candidate's Profile
The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with financial management experience in a manufacturing business that demonstrates hands on leadership of finance teams.

You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities.

You will be able to maintain successful working relationships with senior management, finance staff, commercial and manufacturing personnel, corporate finance, customers and suppliers.


You will also need highly developed problem solving abilities and organisational skills.
