Our client is one of the most sort after companies to work for in the UK with an outstanding reputation. They are presenting this rare opportunity for a professional Credit Controller to join their distinguished finance team based here in Birmingham.

Due to the opportunities available here, this company are ideally looking for an up and coming credit professional, someone with a good foundation level of knowledge within credit (ideally in professional services but not essential) who is looking to develop.

This permanent full-time role will be to provide a high level of Credit Control assistance to the business; you will work with a wide portfolio of blue chip companies. The Individual will be responsible for the timely collection of debts from clients in accordance with the agreed terms of trade, liaising with the Client Service Teams.

Key responsibilities include resolving and collecting difficult or slow paying debts at the same time as maintaining appropriate pressure on clients to settle invoices, providing cover for the wider Credit Control team during periods of leave or absence (this may also include reporting and analysis to the management group as and when required), updating and maintaining the credit control system ensuring the specific steps taken in order to recover debts are noted, maintaining audit trail files for difficult aged debts, managing cash targets, establishing monthly exposure to bad debt provision and arranging bad debt write offs.

The successful candidate will require high levels of communication skills, a 'self-starter' attitude, be able to work well under pressure, have experience of dealing with high volume ledgers and ideally have experience working within professional services or a corporate environment.
