Group Finance Accountant

Our client is a highly successful manufacturing group, who as a result of their continued success now require a Group Financial Accountant to report directly to the Group Finance Controller.

Responsibilities include :

• Financial reporting - Maintaining robust and timely financial reporting, preparing monthly consolidation accounts for the group companies in the UK and aboard ensuring inter-company balances are accurate; as well as challenging the businesses on monthly variances against budget and preparation of Board Reports;
• Statutory reporting - Managing all the year-end processes, producing the annual financial statements to UK GAAP and being the point of contact for the external auditors;
• Finance System Review - Assisting in the continuous development of the financial systems for management accounts, budgeting forecasting and financial reporting across the Group.
• Business Planning - Producing the Head Office business plan together with reviewing and appraising the operational business plans.
• Technical support and Group Initiatives - advising operational financial controllers on accounting and group financial reporting issues as well ad hoc projects and implementing group initiatives.

The successful candidate will:

• Be academically bright and a qualified accountant ACA/ACCA;
• Have a background either from a group environment within industry or Audit and/or accounts preparation from practice;
• Be able to produce financial statements and be confident in working with international consolidation group accounts
• Have excellent technical skills;
• Need to be keen to work autonomously and have the ability to think pro-actively in a complex environment.
