Project Accountant

Cambridge, Cambridgeshire- Our client, a well respected business in the Centre of Cambridge has a permanent opportunity for a Qualified Project Accountant.

Working closely with the Finance Manager you will be working for a division of the group who provide a range of services to businesses internationally. The business are currently going through an exciting period of change and require a qualified Project Accountant to join their team on this journey.

The role will take on various forms but will not be exhaustive of providing financial advice and support to the project team enabling them to maximise performance throughout the agreed timeframes, analyse costs in-line with actuals versus forecasts on a rolling basis prior to completion. You will have regular communication with business managers supplying them with relevant financial information while performing monthly consolidations of the project packs including revenue recognition. Duties will include aspects of business partnering as you take on a proactive approach in driving continuous improvement at the month end reporting stage.

Suitable candidates will be qualified (ACA,ACCA,CIMA) with significant experience in project accounting ideally with exposure in long term contract accounting and reporting, along with the ability to drive forward the need to improve processes and knowledge within the finance and project communities. You will have the ability to quickly assimilate information to form opinions and identify areas of concern, have confidence to represent the finance function at cross functional meetings and provide governance within project teams and the business stream be self motivated and with a proactive approach to work, as this role requires a high degree of autonomy and initiative

Salary £40,000-£50,000 p.a
