Hays Senior Finance is currently recruiting on an exclusive basis, for a rare and exciting opportunity to join a not-for-profit organisation as a Finance Manager. This is a part-time role (circa 22.5 hours, pattern negotiable), based in St Andrews. Your new role

As the Finance Manager, you will oversee a small team and will play a key role in this organisation overseeing the financial and accounting systems, auditing financial records, providing forecasts and producing reports and budget plans. This role has more of a financial accounting bias and this individual will be responsible for producing and analysing statutory accounts for the parent and subsidiary companies. You will be responsible for overseeing financial controls and developing systems and processes to identify efficiencies. You will work closely with Departmental Heads and budget holders and other internal stakeholders. Also, you will deal with and advise on tax issues, ensuring compliance.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will ideally be a Qualified Accountant with strong technical skills. Highly desirable would be experience of preparing accounts within the third sector, with knowledge of regulatory requirements. You will be a proficient ICT user, particularly with Microsoft Office and will be pro-active in identifying improvements in systems and controls to the benefit of the organisation. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and will be the key interface with external stakeholders including banks, regulatory bodies and the HMRC. You will be highly credible and enjoy working within a small team.
