ABPM as experts in financial recruitment are supporting a multi-faceted manufacturer in the appointment of new Financial Controller following a re-organisation of the finance function. As a role that reports into the Managing Director, the role provides an ideal opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a senior management team at a time of growth and investment who wished to embark upon their first finance leadership role.

Your role will adopt the hands on management of day to day accounting function and the following principal duties:

Production of timely financial information, including costing data, management accounts, forecasts and budgets for internal & group review and review.

Development and roll out of appropriate KPIs across all business areas.

Proactive management of cash flow and working capital together with capex appraisals.

Assume responsibility for IT & HR functions and other appropriate administrative tasks.

Develop and implement IT strategy to establish IT at the forefront of management information and continuous improvement strategy.

On a broader basis you will proactively participate in the management of the business as a member of the senior management team, including improving key elements of the financial management function as appropriate, ad hoc .

We see seek applications from accountants who are qualified with an of the following institutes ACCA or CIMA or ACA. Possessing a number of years PQE in manufacturing environment and capable of working on own initiative with minimum supervision. You will have a worked in a larger corporate to bring knowledge with you to this medium sized privately owned business. It goes without saying you will be a team player, but an independent thinker and streetwise. A good communicator who is capable of growing with the business. An ideal profile will be of an individual with a manufacturing environment (turnover £10 million +) possessing detailed hands on costing knowledge and experience in a batch production environment with experience of group reporting.
